Job Summary

Ryder is seeking a skilled and semi-skilled construction laborer to join our team at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. As a Warehouse Pallet Repair Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring expert craftsmanship in repairing pallets to meet company standards and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely and securely repair pallets to meet company standards and safety requirements
  • Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from pallets
  • Operate a hammer, grinder, and saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together components
  • Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 0 to 1 year in carpentry or construction background preferred
  • Ability to comprehend basic math
  • Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner
  • Must be able to follow repair process
  • Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)
