Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medications while monitoring for cost-effective drug therapy, potential adverse reactions, and incompatibilities.
  • Consult with Medical Staff on drug therapy and educate patients on medication use when requested.
  • Accurately fill IV and unit dose physician orders and out-patient prescriptions compliant with legal and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the advancement of Pharmacy's image by actively participating in clinical activities such as providing drug information and participating in developing programs and/or procedures that improve patient care.
  • Communicate concisely and clearly with appropriate personnel on issues, problems, changes, or observations and what actions have been taken to prevent adverse events in patient care.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
  • Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of North Carolina.
  • Preferred experience as a Pharmacist in a hospital setting.
