Position Overview: A vital role within the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, the Water Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, upkeep, and repair of the county's water treatment and distribution systems. This position is crucial for ensuring the efficiency and safety of water services provided to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair water treatment and distribution systems.
- Calibrate and service equipment related to water treatment and distribution.
- Collect and analyze water samples, maintaining accurate records and logs.
- Adjust chemical feed levels and pump operations to ensure optimal water supply.
- Conduct inspections of pumps, wells, and related equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water system components.
- Monitor water distribution systems and storage tank levels regularly.
- Flush fire hydrants and conduct water pressure tests as required.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and enter data into the computer system.
- Investigate and address high consumption readings and leaks in service lines.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of water lines and taps.
- Respond to emergency situations involving water facilities.
- Maintain grounds at well and pump sites.
- Provide professional customer service and respond to public inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of water utility operations and maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
