Job Title: Senior Sheetmetal Technician

Job Summary:

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Sheetmetal Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely laying out, fabricating, and installing parts, equipment, and fabricated items on aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Use complex schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions to perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation tasks.
  2. Mentor and train junior technicians, ensuring they meet quality control standards.
  3. Oversee projects and assess requirements to procure necessary materials and documentation.
  4. Operate shop equipment, such as brakes, presses, and riveting equipment, to shape and form complex angles and configurations.
  5. Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as required.
  6. Conduct monthly 5S audits and use the material tracking system to create parts demand and track squawks.

Requirements:

  1. Advanced knowledge of sheetmetal or fabrication processes, including forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing, and dimpling.
  2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  3. Valid driver's license to operate towing and other Gulfstream transportation equipment.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. Ability to adapt to sudden schedule changes and work any shift.
  6. Good working knowledge of computers and experience working with Microsoft Office suite.
