Position Overview:
$1,000 sign-on bonus eligible position.

Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician I plays a vital role in the surgical team, assisting during operations by providing instruments and supplies in accordance with established protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively participates in surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies, while responding to urgent situations as needed.
  • Adheres to strict aseptic techniques required for surgical operations by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Prepares the operating room prior to surgical interventions by organizing instruments, surgical trays, and necessary equipment.
  • Conducts post-operative clean-up of the operating room by properly disposing of contaminated instruments and preparing them for sterilization.
  • Ensures the operational readiness of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • May assist with patient care tasks, including patient preparation and operation of various electronic devices as directed.
  • Fosters positive relationships with patients, the public, and fellow staff members.
  • Undertakes additional duties as required, such as patient transport and assisting in the training of new staff.
  • Promotes exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients, aligning with the organization's commitment to quality service.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 2000 hours in Operating Room scrub or equivalent military experience within the last three years, demonstrating competency in scrubbing for various surgical procedures (excluding open heart), or recent graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician or military equivalent program within the last six months.
Education:

License, Certification, Registration:
Basic Life Support certification required.

Notes:
  • Mandatory on-call department.
  • Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call.
  • Backup shifts available from 1 PM to 11 PM on weekends.
  • Position may be filled by either Surgical Tech I or Surgical Tech II.
