Strategic Procurement Specialist

Overview:
The Strategic Procurement Specialist will engage in a collaborative approach to source and acquire materials essential for operations. In all tasks, the Procurement Specialist will exhibit financial prudence by negotiating costs, delivery schedules, and terms that favor the organization. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of cash flow implications by minimizing reliance on client-specific components, maintaining low inventory levels, and ensuring all production requirements are fulfilled. Adherence to all relevant programs, protocols, standards, and safety measures is paramount.
Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to align with business objectives.
· Generate blanket purchase orders for packaging materials, labels, adhesives, films, and other items necessary for production
· Oversee vendor releases to guarantee that manufacturing demands are satisfied
· Manage label inventory to mitigate risks associated with client-specific components
· Procure and maintain all required non-stock materials, including but not limited to office supplies, paper, adhesives, and other production materials as requested by the Operations team
· Issue purchase orders for capital expenditure projects
· Monitor production timelines to ensure all materials are accessible as required; communicate any potential shortages to the procurement and operations teams
· Utilize production forecasts to assess raw material requirements; place orders as needed to fulfill demands while keeping inventory levels manageable
· Administer inventory levels of items nearing expiration and those that have expired to minimize risk to the organization.
· Participate in all necessary meetings.
Qualifications:
A degree is preferred but not mandatory. A minimum of three years of experience in a procurement environment is required.
