Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Orthopedic Surgery Center team at Spectrum Healthcare Partners. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to surgeons and patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide competent and skilled nursing services to surgeons and patients in the Orthopedic Surgery Center.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to establish a safe and effective environment for surgical patients.
  • Assess, implement, and evaluate treatments and procedures to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Ensure that all physician orders are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Confirm that proper supplies and equipment are available for procedures.
  • Assist and pass medical instruments to surgeons as needed during operations.
  • Adhere to safety standards and precautions to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
  • Obtain concurrent vital signs to detect deviations from expected normal values and assess patient condition.
  • Support patient rights and ethics by delivering consistent, competent, and ethical care within legal standards of practice.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients to ensure they understand procedures and feel comfortable.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent patient care documentation.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Active State of Maine Nursing license or eligible for licensure.
  • Broad knowledge of nursing in an ambulatory surgery center setting with emphasis on surgical risk factors and patient pre-intra-and post-operative learning needs.
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in a surgical setting.
  • Scrubbing experience required.
  • Orthopedic nursing experience helpful.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and CNOR certification desired.
