Job Description

Overview

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT, you will play a vital role in our team, working closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality respiratory care.

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers patient-centered respiratory care, performing diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing and documenting patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conducting diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administering respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assisting with placement of artificial airways and initiating, monitoring, and maintaining mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitoring patient response and notifying providers as necessary.
  • Assisting with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and responding to emergent patient situations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
  • Associate Degree.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist or Licensed Respiratory Therapist.
