**Job Summary:**

The Accounts Payable Specialist at Millennial Management performs a variety of financial, administrative, and clerical support work in Baltimore, Maryland. Their role is to process payments, control expenses by receiving payments, and verify and reconcile invoices.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Process payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries.
  • Review accounts, records, reports, vouchers, journals, and ledgers for accuracy and proper accounting treatment.
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, scheduling, and preparing checks, and resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
  • Issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports: income statements, cash flow, balance sheets.

**Qualifications:**

  • 5 years prior accounting experience is preferred.
  • Advanced written comprehension and expression.
  • Expert Microsoft Suite.
  • Active listening.
  • Time management: organizing and prioritizing.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organization, project management, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
