Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and bilingual (English/Spanish) Outreach Health Educator to join our team at the Rural Health Group. This part-time, grant-funded position will focus on providing health education and outreach services to migrant and seasonal farmworkers in our Henderson location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct health assessments with farmworkers to identify service needs and provide referrals as necessary.
  • Assist with coordination of outreach activities, including affiliated projects and events.
  • Disseminate information to farmworkers regarding clinic services and state and local public services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of outreach activities and services provided.
  • Provide case management services, including assessment, referral, follow-up, and re-assessment.
  • Participate in health center/clinic staff meetings to provide input and contribute to the development of outreach strategies.
  • Work in accordance with NC Farmworker Health Program grant requirements and maintain computer management data systems for program tracking and data reporting.
Requirements
  • Must be bilingual and proficient in Spanish to English and English to Spanish translation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • CMA or MA preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and commitment to advocacy for cultural diversity.
  • Some experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational, telephone, and communication skills.
  • Ability to apply good judgment when carrying out responsibilities.
  • Pleasant, professional approach and ability to work well with the public.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and withstand all outside climate variables. A flexible schedule and ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary are also required.

A valid NC Driver's License and proper liability insurance are also necessary for this position.
