POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Financial Accountant is tasked with the preparation of daily financial reports, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations, as well as the verification of invoices received for payment requests from external partners.

This role is crucial in ensuring that internal controls are established and maintained in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement and uphold best practices within the General Ledger Accounting department.
Engage with company staff and clients to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of account records.
Lead departmental initiatives as directed by management.
Support the review and preparation of journal entries at the property level.
Assist in the examination of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the property team is well-informed of recorded balances.
Conduct research on vendor invoicing to verify the accuracy of account reporting and protect company assets.
Collaborate with the Controller and Director of Finance to ensure prompt responses to audit requests and recommendations.

Work alongside the Controller and Director of Finance to establish and maintain robust accounting controls that comply with all relevant regulations.

Alert management to any potential discrepancies and assist in the investigation and resolution of issues.
Provide consistent, timely, and accurate information, and seek answers when necessary.
Follow established schedules for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks.
Maintain a positive attitude and a friendly, helpful demeanor in all interactions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Uphold a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:
No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred, along with 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Must maintain registration as a gaming employee in accordance with state regulations.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English are essential for interacting with guests and colleagues. The ability to articulate clear correspondence and present information to groups is required.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:
Strong analytical and mathematical skills are necessary, with an emphasis on accurate record-keeping. Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations is required.

TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant information technology platforms is required. Ability to operate a 10-key by touch is essential.

REASONING SKILLS:

Ability to plan, write, concentrate amid distractions, remember details, and make decisions based on observations and analysis.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Includes standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling, carrying, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Primarily indoors.
