Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and Implement Financial Strategies

Develop and oversee the implementation of policies and programs for investments, funding, and asset-liability areas. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors and financial institutions.

Asset and Liability Management

Analyze and submit to Executive Management various asset and liability strategies as potential new areas of capital growth and development. Ensure that the Bank's reserves meet legal requirements and maintain a strong understanding of market trends and economic conditions.

Product Pricing and Sales

Oversee the setting of prices for the Bank's wholesale liability products and assist in the execution of all purchases and sales of primary and secondary liquidity securities. Monitor overall performance of service-for-others activities for loans sold by the Bank.

Investor Relations

Develop and maintain relationships with private investors, Federal National Mortgage Association, Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, Government National Mortgage Association, Hawaii Finance and Development Corporation, State Employees Retirement System, and other investors.

Portfolio Management

Manage and review the portfolio of tax credit equity investments, including new market tax credits, historic tax credits, renewable energy tax credits, and rehabilitation tax credit programs, which provide tax and CRA benefits to the organization.

Market Awareness

Monitor and maintain market awareness relative to interest rates, monetary trends, and the general economy.

Requirements

  1. Experience

Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Treasury Management at a financial institution with an asset size greater than $5 Billion.

Skills and Training

Thorough knowledge of accounting and tax-related legislation, regulations, and reporting procedures, as well as Federal and State laws relating to the banking industry. Possesses broad knowledge of market conditions and a wide range of external contracts to achieve Bank's objectives. Able to analyze and comprehend financial statements and the impact of financial information. Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
