Job Summary

The Director of Faith Formation is a key leadership position at the Archdiocese of Chicago, responsible for developing and implementing faith formation programs for students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement comprehensive faith formation programs that inspire a relationship with Jesus, deepen understanding and appreciation of Catholic tradition, and encourage engagement in the parish community.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrate strong leadership skills to identify, develop, and retain teams of paid staff and volunteer leaders critical to the success of parish ministry.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise the Faith Formation office staff and over 50 catechists and programming volunteers for the 400 student K-8 program.
  • Communication and Engagement: Foster effective communication and engagement with clergy, staff, parish leaders, volunteers, and program participants.
  • Technical Skills: Possess a strong working knowledge of Office 365 suite of products and be highly comfortable navigating databases. Knowledge and experience using PushPay database is a plus.
Requirements
  • Catholic Identity: Be a practicing Catholic with a deep understanding and support for Catholic teaching, mission, and values.
  • Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Pastoral Studies, Theology, Faith Formation, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Have previous experience participating in a parish faith formation program.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with clergy, staff, parish leaders, volunteers, and program participants.
