About the Role

The Packaging Supervisor will oversee all activities within a specific department or area of an organization, monitoring the efficacy of the department, improving operating processes, and reporting to upper management.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage production area to meet all operational goals in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, etc.
  • Coordinate daily production activities and resources to ensure daily objectives are met.
  • Work with team to identify and resolve issues to enhance employee safety and GMP compliance.
  • Develop team and build an effective operating culture by utilizing a performance management process that sets expectations, ensures on-going coaching, and assesses an employee's performance.
  • Understand production standards for production area, be accountable for managing production area shift to ensure objectives are met.
  • Implement and utilize solutions and technologies in support of improved safety, quality, and continuous improvement and optimization of manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical leadership within operation to resolve and/or trouble shoot production issues.
  • Ability to communicate issues, goals, and objectives effectively and manage competing requests in a complex, changing environment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion and review of production records.
  • Apply understanding of HACCP, GMPs, Food Safety, Food Defense, and regulatory requirements to process design and qualifications.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as an operations supervisor or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience implementing operational processes.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Knowledge of operational principles and policies.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Team leadership.
  • Experience working within an FDA regulated environment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required (i.e., Windows, SAP, WINS).
  • Previous experience with computerized inventory systems a plus.
  • Experience leading a production team in a complex, changing environment to deliver results to the organization.
  • Experience working on a cross-functional team within a broader organization preferred.
