About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Stage Fluids team at Relativity Space. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the mechanical and structural implementation of the stage fluid systems, ensuring a reliable and efficient operation of our Terran R launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop fluid routing and systems, including trade studies and analysis
  • Design and develop mounting structures for fluid system components and routing
  • Perform mechanical verification analysis, including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) to optimize production processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a vehicle capable of launching to orbit
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or an equivalent engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience
  • Experience with commercial CAD packages (NX, CREO, Solidworks)
  • Experience with GD&T and FEA tools
  • Project ownership experience and manufacturing experience or experience interacting with vendors
  • Experience with fluid system components and system testing
