We are looking for an Anatomical Pathology Technician to join our team, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality, efficient care to all patients. If you are passionate about patient care and thrive in a supportive environment, we invite you to consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

As an Anatomical Pathology Technician, your duties will encompass all aspects of specimen preparation for pathologist evaluation, including gross examination, block preparation and cutting, as well as slide preparation and staining. You will guarantee that specimens are suitable and viable for the required observations and diagnoses by the Pathologist. Additionally, you will oversee safety, maintenance, and quality control processes.

  • Accession specimens with accurate patient information and log them correctly.
  • Process, embed, cut, mount, and stain specimens.
  • File slides, cassettes, and tissue blocks accurately.
  • Prepare, label, and monitor expiration dates on solutions and reagents.
  • Assist with bone marrow aspirations, biopsies, fine needle aspirations, and renal biopsies.
  • Support lab maintenance, including cleaning, restocking, preventive maintenance of equipment, instrument performance checks, and specimen disposal.
Qualifications Required:

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as an Anatomical Pathology Technician is preferred.

Education

  • Associate's degree in Histology or Applied Science.
  • Graduation from an accredited Histology or Pathology program.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) is preferred.
