Job Summary

The City of Peoria is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Exercise Instructor to join our team at the Rio Vista Recreation Center. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing exercise instruction for multiple group fitness classes, ranging in variety, intensity levels, and class formats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct patrons on effective workout methods, explain proper techniques, demonstrate exercises, identify different muscle groups being used, and teach appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscle groups.
  • Prepare appropriate equipment, music, and handouts.
  • Assist patrons, answer questions, and maintain a positive exercise experience for all members.
  • Ensure safety standards are met and the department and facility policies are adhered to.
  • Keep abreast of current trends in fields of responsibility.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
