Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Kinesiology courses at Kern Community College District. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning outcomes, and contributing to the development of curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Kinesiology courses, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions
  • Develop and implement curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students
  • Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
  • Maintain subject matter currency and stay current with developments in the field of Kinesiology
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Education with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of Exercise, or Adaptive Physical Education
  • OR Bachelor's degree in any of the above and Master's degree in any Life Science, Dance, Physiology, Health Education, Recreation Administration, or Physical Therapy
  • OR The equivalent
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching Kinesiology courses at the community college level
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment
  • Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
