Job Summary

West Pharmaceutical Services is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical and mechanical systems for our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical and mechanical systems for automation
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency and productivity
  • Provide technical training and support to maintenance and engineering personnel

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in automation system instrumentation and field device technology
  • Experience with real-time data historians and vision systems
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with SAP, Master Control, or similar systems and databases
  • Experience with Lean Sigma programs and activities
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers to operate office equipment
  • Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles
  • Ability to work in a moderate to loud noise environment
