Bus Technician

Job Title: Bus Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Bus Technician to join our team at STA of Colorado, Inc. in Colorado, USA.

About the Role:

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of hands-on experience working on diesel engines with large buses or vehicles.
  • They must possess a Class 7 Inspection license and be able to lift heavy equipment (minimum of 50 lbs) frequently throughout the workday.
  • A valid Commercial Driver's License and DOT physical are also required, or the ability to attain within 3 months of hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform thorough and accurate Preventative Maintenance (PM) inspections on company buses, vans, and automobiles.
  2. Complete all required PM maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation, following schedules and under general direction from the Shop Supervisor.
  3. Diagnose mechanical defects and inspect equipment to ensure safety standards are met.
  4. Assist with starting buses for AM/PM routes, perform emergency roadside services as needed, and document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by specialized vehicle and equipment repair courses.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations, OSHA standards, and EPA regulations regarding disposal of toxic waste substances.
  • Ability to safely operate bench grinders, torches, drill presses, jacks, jack stands, sawzalls, oil pumps, power washers, and other hand tools required to perform work.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
