Job Overview

Magnet Medical, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking an experienced Advanced MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team in Centerville, Ohio. This 13-week contract offers a competitive pay package based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week, including a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled MRI Technologist to operate MRI machines, creating detailed images of the inside of patients' bodies. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and maintain high standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation:
    • Review patient medical history, doctor's orders, and previous imaging studies to ensure accurate procedures.
    • Explain MRI procedures to patients, addressing questions and concerns to reduce anxiety.
    • Complete necessary documentation, including informed consent forms and patient information.
    • Verify patient identity and screening criteria to ensure safety.
    • Prepare and position the MRI room for procedures.
  • Conducting MRI Scans:
    • Operate MRI machines, adjusting settings as prescribed by physicians.
    • Position patients on the MRI table, ensuring comfort and alignment for clear images.
    • Administer contrast agents as needed, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
    • Ensure patient stability during scans.
    • Monitor MRI processes, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort:
    • Ensure patient safety during MRI procedures, adhering to magnetic field safety protocols.
    • Keep patients informed during scans, providing reassurance and instructions as needed.
    • Monitor patient condition, detecting potential issues or discomfort.
    • Ensure proper patient positioning to avoid injuries or discomfort.
  • Post-Procedure Care:
    • Assist patients off the MRI table after procedures.
    • Provide post-procedure instructions, including follow-up treatments and aftercare guidance.
    • Schedule any required post-scan imaging or additional scans.
    • Address immediate concerns or side effects.
  • Maintenance and Equipment Care:
    • Regularly calibrate MRI machines, performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Clean and disinfect the MRI suite and equipment between patients.
    • Monitor equipment performance, identifying malfunctions or issues.
  • Collaboration with Medical Team:
    • Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff.
    • Work with healthcare professionals to review images, assess patient needs, and discuss conditions.
    • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate image transmission and diagnosis.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
    • Document patient information and scan results in electronic health records.
    • LABEL AND UPLOAD IMAGING DATA PROPERLY INTO THE SYSTEM.
    • Maintain logs of equipment usage, maintenance, and procedure-related issues.
  • Radiation Safety and Protocols:
    • Follow guidelines for handling contrast agents and equipment that could pose a risk to patients.
    • Adhere to radiation safety standards for other imaging technologies used in the department.
    • Follow established safety protocols, including magnetic field safety.
  • Professional Development and Training:
    • Stay current with the latest MRI technology, scanning techniques, and patient care practices.
    • Participate in continuing education programs and obtain necessary certifications to maintain licensure and improve professional skills.
    • Assist in training new MRI technologists or students on the operation of MRI machines and best practices in patient care.
