Job Summary:
USPI is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. As an Insurance Verification Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive the necessary medical care while also verifying insurance benefits and obtaining proper authorization from insurance carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interface with patients, families, physicians, and staff to obtain and verify patient demographics and insurance information.
- Update patient information in our system and verify insurance benefits to determine what funds to collect upon admission.
- Notify patients of monies due and document in our billing system.
- Perform other duties as required or requested by our chain of command.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two years previous experience in hospital insurance verification required.
- Must have the skills necessary to operate office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
- Forty-five (45)wpm typing skills required.
- Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, including Word and Excel.
