Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Middle School Teacher to join our team at Ombudsman Educational Services. As an Instructional Leader, you will be responsible for increasing student achievement by implementing instructional practices and strategies endorsed by ChanceLight Education and in accordance with Ombudsman policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction through the use of curriculum materials and educational software.
  • Develop daily lesson plans and classroom schedules that reflect state and school requirements.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers and other support staff to provide instructional support and approved modifications to the curriculum.
  • Implement standards for student behavior to ensure a safe, secure, and effective learning environment.
  • Maintain regular contact with students' parents/guardians to inform them of student progress, areas of difficulty, and any changes or situations in home life that may affect school performance.
  • Actively participate in team meetings to address specific student and parent concerns.
  • Assess student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with research-based practices and developments in the subject area.
  • Respond constructively to formal and informal feedback.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field.
  • Meet all state teaching certification and/or licensing requirements.
  • Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction in an education and/or classroom setting.
  • Highly skilled in working with staff and students with diverse needs at various levels.
  • Prior experience working with students in an alternative education program setting is preferred.
  • Prior experience in relevant grade level and/or subject matter.
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students to help them move toward realistic goals and next steps.
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology, including experience with instructional technology, computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
