Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with loading and unloading the bus, providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Provide emergency assistance to students with special needs as needed, utilizing your knowledge and skills to ensure their safety.
  • Monitor students during transportation, maintaining a high level of awareness and attention to their needs.
  • Document and report any incidents or accidents that occur during transportation, adhering to district policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with bus drivers and other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient transportation experience for all students.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment on district vehicles in a safe and effective manner.
  • Capable of assessing situations in emergencies quickly and reacting with necessary measures for the protection and well-being of special needs children.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Special Needs students, parents, and school personnel.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle emissions. You will be responsible for loading and unloading various equipment, including wheelchairs and car seats, and assisting students on and off the vehicle.
