The primary duties include:
- Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and sterile.
- Performing surgical scrubs using aseptic techniques for various procedures.
- Supporting the surgical team by maintaining accurate counts of instruments and supplies during operations.
- Collaborating with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Monitoring patient comfort and safety throughout the surgical process.
- Engaging in continuous education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in surgical procedures.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a surgical technician training program or equivalent experience.
- Direct patient care experience, preferably in an obstetric or surgical setting.
