PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Wisconsin RN Licensure.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a commitment to obtain within five years. An Associate's Degree in Nursing is acceptable for those employed prior to specific criteria.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for various departments, including Emergency and Critical Care.
- Completion of the Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is mandatory for RNs with less than one year of Emergency Department experience within a specified timeframe.
- Additional certifications may be required based on departmental needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Capability to move freely, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing job responsibilities.
- Manual dexterity and coordination necessary for patient care tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequent contact with sharp instruments and potential exposure to hazardous materials.
- Occasional exposure to high noise levels and moving mechanical parts.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and safely transport patients and equipment.
- Risk of exposure to communicable diseases and other health hazards.
UNIT DETAILS:
The Emergency Department is a designated Level II trauma center, equipped to handle a wide range of emergency situations, with a dedicated team focused on trauma and neurological emergencies.
SCHEDULE:
- 12-hour night shifts.
- Rotational weekend and holiday coverage required.
