REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Wisconsin RN Licensure.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a commitment to obtain within five years. An Associate's Degree in Nursing is acceptable for those employed prior to specific criteria.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for various departments, including Emergency and Critical Care.
  • Completion of the Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is mandatory for RNs with less than one year of Emergency Department experience within a specified timeframe.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on departmental needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capability to move freely, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing job responsibilities.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination necessary for patient care tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequent contact with sharp instruments and potential exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Occasional exposure to high noise levels and moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and safely transport patients and equipment.
  • Risk of exposure to communicable diseases and other health hazards.

UNIT DETAILS:

The Emergency Department is a designated Level II trauma center, equipped to handle a wide range of emergency situations, with a dedicated team focused on trauma and neurological emergencies.

SCHEDULE:

  • 12-hour night shifts.
  • Rotational weekend and holiday coverage required.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 30

Scheduled FTE: 0.75
