Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Part-time Sales Associate to join our team at Great Lakes Ace Hardware. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, generating sales, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with purchases.
  • Generate sales by using the S.A.L.E.S. process to help customers find products and promoting sales within specified guidelines.
  • Replenish stock, maintain inventory integrity, and complete all company and departmental paperwork accurately.
  • Display and maintain merchandise on end caps, shelves, counters, or tables following company plan-ogram.
  • Maintain familiarity with new products and ad merchandise, and practice loss prevention techniques to minimize shoplifting losses.
  • Operate cash register by scanning all merchandise, engaging customers through suggestive selling, and thanking customers for shopping at GLA.
  • Adhere to all company policies, participate in periodic team meetings, and maintain a continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance.
Requirements
  • 6 months related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively with customers or associates.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
