Imagine One Technology and Management Ltd is currently in search of a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to provide support for the US Navy in the formulation and implementation of testing strategies that align with user specifications for moderately intricate to complex software and hardware systems. The role encompasses the following responsibilities: Testing software applications and interfaces, Product Interval (PI) planning, Iteration Planning (IP), Integration testing, Systems Testing, and automated testing methodologies. The position is associated with the development, deployment, and maintenance of a comprehensive suite of shore-based maintenance applications.


Experience Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a test engineer is essential.
  • Background in testing Ship Maintenance and Ship Life Cycle Management Systems (such as WebAIM, MAT, WebSupdesk, etc.) is preferred.
  • Senior level candidates should possess a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in application testing.
  • Mid-level candidates should have between four (4) to eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in providing testing support for user requirements related to complex software and hardware applications is required.
  • Accountable for ensuring that test designs and documentation meet all relevant client, agency, or industry standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Responsible for validating that testing conclusions and recommendations are substantiated by test results, while keeping project managers informed of testing progress and any deviations from documented user requirements.
  • Review user application system requirements documentation; design, define, and document unit and application test plans; convert test plans into test scripts and execute those scripts.
  • Engage in all phases of risk management assessment and software/hardware development under the guidance of a Lead Test Engineer.
  • Ensure proper execution of test scripts and accurate documentation of test results in test logs or defect tracking systems.
  • Experience with SAP testing is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with developing automated test scripts using tools or languages such as Katalon and JavaScript is a plus.

Educational Requirements:

  • Senior level candidates are preferred to hold a Master's Degree, although a Bachelor's Degree may be accepted as a substitute.
  • Mid-level candidates are expected to have a Bachelor's Degree, with an Associate's Degree or High School diploma considered in conjunction with additional years of experience.

Security Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Candidates must possess an ACTIVE SECRET clearance.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with DoD/DoN acquisition, budgeting, and investment management policies, guides, and regulations.
  • Experience with Defense Business Systems.
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense Enterprise Architecture Framework (DODAF).
  • Understanding of Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), particularly as it pertains to guidance from the DoD Deputy Chief Management Officer (DCMO).
  • Operational knowledge in areas such as Enterprise services, Supply Support, Materials Management, Maintenance Planning, and Financial Management.
  • Proficiency in software languages, applications, operating systems, frameworks, and integrated data environments.
  • Experience in Software/Systems Engineering using Agile methodologies, with the ability to tailor approaches to specific systems engineering processes and software development tools.
  • Utilization of DPO SDLC tools (e.g., Serena Business Manager, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow/SIAM, Katalon, Selenium).
  • Experience in Application Test and Evaluation, particularly unit testing, System Testing, and integration testing.
  • Knowledge of Asset Management related to government documents, hardware, and software (including license agreements).
  • Experience in the modification, maintenance, installation, and integration of interfaced enterprise solutions involving GOTS & COTS software products.
  • Understanding of Information Assurance – DoD/DoN IA requirements and industry best practices.
  • Experience in IT Infrastructure Support – hosted environment operations.
  • System Administration experience, including help desk support and trouble ticket resolution.
