Job Overview

This position is tailored for professionals who are enthusiastic about delivering high-quality surveying services while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Licensed Land Surveyor will undertake the following duties:

  • Conduct and supervise land surveys for diverse energy-related initiatives, including but not limited to pipeline, natural gas, electric transmission and distribution, and water resource projects.
  • Prepare and evaluate survey documentation, maps, and drawings to guarantee precision and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to offer surveying expertise that supports effective project planning and execution.
  • Mentor and train internal field personnel to enhance their capabilities as survey technicians, fostering a culture of excellence in surveying practices.
  • Oversee the management of surveying equipment and technologies, remaining informed about advancements in tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure all surveying operations comply with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license, with the potential to obtain licensure in additional states as necessary.
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the field of land surveying.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and GIS applications (AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcMap).
  • Proficient in surveying technologies, including GPS, GIS, and CAD software.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of mentoring team members.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a history of delivering precise surveying services within stringent timelines.
  • Willingness to travel and engage in projects across various states, adapting to different regulatory and environmental conditions.
  • A valid driver's license and readiness to travel extensively to project sites.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
