Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse will work in conjunction with the Clinic Supervisor/Manager/Director and Clinic Providers to assess, plan, implement, and collaborate with other departments/services to ensure excellence in patient and family care. The RN will integrate clinic goals for improvement across the care continuum, coordinate and delegate patient care activities, and practice within the framework of the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association professional standards, and National Patient Safety Goals.
Essential Functions- Performs patient assessment and documents in patient record.
- Utilizes the nursing process to adapt interventions to meet age-appropriate care, including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs, in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
- Implements and evaluates care interventions, delegates appropriately, and ensures documentation of interventions.
- Evaluates progress towards the prescribed plan of care and coordinates care with clinic providers and intervenes as necessary.
- Educates patient and families regarding current health status, plan of care, and anticipated outcomes.
- Ensures superior ongoing patient satisfaction and customer service.
- Demonstrates efficient time management and prioritization skills.
- Maintains professional standards related to clinical practice, staffing, and continuing education.
- Practices fiscal responsibility and accountability.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment.
- May be required to work in other clinic environments according to distribution of staff and patient loads.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure: Current Wyoming license.
- Experience: Experience in ambulatory clinic nursing preferred.
- The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required.
- The ability to assess a patient's condition, formulate a plan of care, select appropriate interventions, evaluate patient response to care/treatment, and to explain/teach patients about their condition/recovery.
- Ability to handle emergency high-stress situations.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and under stressful conditions.
- Analytical and reasoning skills with a high level of mental concentration and memory.
- Ability to speak clearly to communicate and positively interact with patients, families, physicians, and staff regarding patient condition and care.
- Computer knowledge, including the ability to enter material into electronic record.
