Flint Hills is seeking a highly skilled Medical Services Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the Medical Services Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating medical services and ensuring the highest level of care for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct medication delegation training and annual recertification for designated staff members.
- Perform nursing assessments and document conditions, changes, and progress in a timely manner.
- Oversee medication variances and ensure face sheets and MARs are current and accurate.
- Work with the pharmacy to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications and MARs.
- Administer scheduled and PRN injections and medications as ordered by physicians.
- Plan and oversee the dispensing of medication, perform quality checks, and ensure appropriate medication was dispensed.
- Oversee staff in dispensing medication and tracking vital signs.
- Work with physicians, dieticians, and staff to ensure special dietary orders are followed.
- Provide essential medical information to doctors for client appointments.
- Facilitate medical support service planning with Department Directors and Site Leaders.
- Oversee staff in monitoring diabetes programs, including monitoring blood sugar readings and providing weekly deviation reports.
- Perform minor, routine, non-invasive medical procedures under the direction of and orders of client physicians.
- Report accidents, incidents, suspected cases of abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation in accordance with FSI policies.
- Ensure the highest level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Keep staff and guardians informed of changes in client treatment, medication, etc.
- Observe persons served for reactions to drugs, treatments, or procedures, and report unusual conditions and adverse reactions.
- Maintain immunization programs for staff and provide required TB tests and Hepatitis B shots.
- Communicate all issues and concerns to supervisor in a professional and timely manner.
- Participate in general staff meetings and other committees as assigned.
- Current LPN certification from an institution accredited by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
- Current LPN license from the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
- Must abide by the services and ethics standards set by the Nurse Practice Act and FSI.
- Must complete College of Front Line Supervisory training course within 3 months of hire or provide proof of course completion.
