About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Optum. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the pharmacy functions and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff, responding to their needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prescription Filling: Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Inventory Management: Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies and inventory, ensuring that all medications and supplies are properly stocked and accounted for.
  • Wholesaler Orders: Receive and process wholesaler medication orders, verifying that all orders are accurate and complete.
  • Inventory Tracking: Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records, ensuring that all medications are properly tracked and accounted for.
  • Pharmacy Compliance: Work with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and ensure that the pharmacy is in compliance with all federal and state requirements.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform various clerical duties relating to the department, including data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with strong professional verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally.

Requirements
  • Pharmacy Technician License: Possess an active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Minnesota or the ability to obtain a license within six months of employment.
  • Reliable Transportation: Have access to reliable transportation to and from work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification: Possess National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Pharmacy Experience: Have experience in pharmacy and prescription data entry.
