Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties (The Affiliate) is a faith-based community service organization dedicated to partnering with low-income families and community stakeholders to create homeownership opportunities and foster communities of hope as a manifestation of divine love.

In alignment with the mission of HFHMCC, the Chief Executive Officer will undertake the following responsibilities and duties:

Administrative Oversight:

Oversee the Habitat office, managing both paid and volunteer personnel while collaborating closely with the President and board on administrative matters.

The paid staff includes an Executive Assistant/Payroll Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Fund Development Coordinator, and a future Construction Manager.
Facilitate the orientation, training, evaluation, and support of staff and volunteers.

Supervise employee performance by providing guidance, oversight, and opportunities for personal growth, including regular performance evaluations.

HFHMCC operates two ReStore locations, for which the CEO serves as the General Manager, overseeing the ReStore Managers and their teams, including store operations, marketing, budget adherence, and staffing.

Engage with affiliate committees and serve in an ex-officio role on all committees except Personnel and Nominating. Encourage and promote volunteer involvement in board activities and committees.
Assist the Treasurer in the preparation of the annual budget and present it to the Board for approval.
Collaborate with the finance committee to ensure audits and financial activities are completed.
Authorize expenditures within Board-approved limits. Work with the Executive Assistant and contracted accountants to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Ensure responsible management of the affiliate's assets and facilities.
Maintain proper record-keeping to ensure confidentiality and legal compliance, including safeguarding employee and Partner Family applicant records.
Organize new construction and repair projects, such as community improvement initiatives.
Submit regular reports to various Federal and State granting agencies, as well as Habitat International.
Act as the primary liaison to Habitat International, fostering a strong working relationship.

Collaborate with the Board President to review, update, and develop affiliate policies and procedures that align with HFH International standards, ensuring compliance by the board, committees, and staff.

Work with the Board President to set agendas for monthly Executive Committee and Board meetings (held bi-monthly), compiling and distributing necessary information to all members.


Fundraising and Community Engagement:

Support the Board in developing short- and long-term strategic plans and the resources needed for implementation.

Assist the Board, Fund Development Coordinator, and Development Committee in creating and executing the fundraising strategy and budget.

Play a crucial role in resource development, ensuring compliance with affordable housing grant applications, fostering positive relationships with corporate sponsors, and enhancing the effectiveness of special events and overall development strategies.

Collaborate with staff and the Board to create and implement a public awareness strategy.

Communication:
Act as the representative of the Affiliate to various communities, churches, businesses, groups, foundations, and community leaders.

Serve as the primary communication conduit among the regional office, board members, committees, staff, families awaiting assistance, homeowner families, and volunteers.

Assist in orienting new board members and volunteers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent life experience
Strong business acumen
Experience in non-profit management and fundraising is essential
Preferred 5+ years of management experience
Must be a self-starter
Experience with Habitat for Humanity or similar non-profit housing development organizations is preferred
Experience in affordable housing initiatives, whether in construction, planning, or serving economically disadvantaged individuals
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to inspire support and engagement.


Hours and Compensation: This is a full-time salaried position requiring additional evening and weekend work, both in-office and on job sites.

Benefits include paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, health insurance, and a voluntary retirement savings plan (403(b) Savings Plan).

Compensation is commensurate with experience and education, within the range of $60,000-$70,000.
