As a Supervisory Transportation Security Inspector with the Transportation Security Administration, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the American way of life by securing transportation infrastructure and ensuring freedom of movement for people and commerce.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct transportation security inspections and investigations to identify potential problem areas and ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and agreements.
- Engage in testing security systems to determine their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Determine when enforcement action should be taken to address security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Document the results of inspections and investigations to monitor compliance and identify trends.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate security risks and improve the overall security posture of transportation systems.
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to post-employment random drug and alcohol testing.
- Selective Service registration.
- Valid driver's license.
- Completion of the Basic Transportation Security Inspections Course.
- Availability for on-call work and duty within the U.S. and possibly worldwide to protect U.S. transportation interests.
- Ability to work various shifts, including frequently changing and uncommon tours of duty.
- Extensive travel, at times overnight, as required.
- Satisfactory completion of a one-year supervisory trial period to continue in this supervisory/managerial position.
- One year of specialized experience at the SV-H or GS-12 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
- Experience conducting transportation security inspections and investigations, engaging in testing security systems, determining when enforcement action should be taken, documenting results, and identifying potential problem areas.
