We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room Housekeeper to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our environmental services team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, exam rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, OR rooms, offices, and equipment, following established procedures.
- Remove trash from all assigned areas and replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations to ensure adequate supply.
- Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting any problems or suggestions to the supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including moving equipment, furniture, boxes, washing walls, and spot-cleaning carpets.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment and supplies.
This role requires frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and different types of cleaning chemicals. The ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods is also required.
