Job Title: Mental Health Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Natchez Trace Youth Academy. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care to our adolescent residents, ensuring their safety and well-being while supporting the therapeutic milieu.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of residents while supporting the therapeutic milieu.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of residents' behavioral programs by providing care and close supervision of facility residents and documenting behavior.
  • Develop positive relationships with residents.
  • Implement treatment plans and provide crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Observe peer culture to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Participate in residents' group therapy.
  • Attend staff development training to meet facility and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain professional relationships with staff and departments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Higher education in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
  • One year of experience in residential treatment or children's services preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license.

Natchez Trace Youth Academy is a highly-structured, 24-bed cognitive behavioral program serving adolescent males ages 12-18. Our interdisciplinary staff helps residents refocus their thinking patterns to improve their actions and behavior. We are located in the beautiful hills of Tennessee, just south of Waverly, Tennessee.
