Sterilization Technician

As a Sterilization Technician at MetroHealth, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care by preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments. Your attention to detail and ability to work independently will be essential in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, prepare, package, sterilize, and store surgical instruments
- Function as liaison to hospital staff, particularly the operating room and labor and delivery room, concerning instrument care and use
- Operate instrument washer and sterilization equipment
- Maintain sterilizer logs and supplies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of Central Sterile Processing experience
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of Central Sterile Processing experience
- Basic PC skills
- Experience with instrument tracking systems
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently
- Ability to lift 35 pounds and push/pull 350 pounds
