About the Role

This position involves end-to-end platform administration and support tasks in Kafka. The role may include:

  • Configuration of Kafka Software
  • Coordination and planning of platform maintenance, disaster recovery, and software release management
  • L3+ escalation for platform issue resolution, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Configuration and tuning of production and lower-level environments

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kafka administration and a passion for automation and scripting. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working on creating automated scripts to upgrade and deploy Kafka on all lanes using Ansible
  • Developing maintenance and monitoring scripts using Python and shell
  • Supporting tenant application teams with Kafka development activities
  • Performing capacity and stability monitoring
  • Assisting with platform metrics collection and reporting
  • Contributing to the definition, review, documentation, and communication of standards and best practices
