REPORTS TO: Director of Operations FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: 8am-5pm with occasional early/late shifts and weekends

POSITION SUMMARY: The Transporter is tasked with adhering to the transportation schedule, ensuring clients and/or staff are safely conveyed to various appointments, classes, meetings, and job assignments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Timely pick-up of clients from designated locations and transport to appropriate destinations
  • Drive responsibly, observing traffic regulations and speed limits while being mindful of weather conditions
  • Utilize specified routes or approved GPS systems for navigation
  • Perform basic vehicle upkeep, including refueling and cleaning, and report any mechanical issues immediately
  • Maintain open communication with clients and colleagues to enhance service quality and satisfaction
  • Uphold client and agency confidentiality at all times
  • Follow established protocols for safe client transport
  • Provide emotional support to clients as needed
  • Address conflicts when they arise
  • Assist at assigned locations as directed
  • Complete incident reports as necessary

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • Ability to comprehend instructions and follow designated routes
  • Writing proficiency at a sixth-grade level

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Compliance with insurance provider's requirements
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Understanding of traffic laws
  • Proficiency in using GPS navigation or following written directions
  • Accountability and effective time management
  • Conflict resolution capabilities

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical Demands:

Ability to enter and exit vehicles multiple times, drive, sit, stand, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds

Environmental Conditions:

Spend a significant portion of the day driving in varying traffic conditions, with travel required in all weather

Mental Demands:

Manage daily deadlines and interactions with clients and staff

WORK EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Commitment to a minimum of 40 hours per week
  2. Collaboration with staff and clients
  3. Travel for appointments or meetings at different locations
