Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our comprehensive laboratory department at Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, working closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory procedures as ordered by healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work as a generalist in the areas of chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis, utilizing your knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Collect and process specimens, maintaining a high level of quality control and adhering to laboratory safety protocols.
  • Provide technical support to Medical Laboratory Technicians, providers, and other internal staff, promoting a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies, participating in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science, or a related field.
  • Valid certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
  • Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate.
  • Knowledge of current laboratory safety and hygiene protocols, as well as quality control testing procedures and practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with computer-based applications, including MS Office and electronic medical record systems.
