Key Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Radiologic Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including but not limited to x-rays and fluoroscopy, within a clinical setting. This position may also require flexibility to assist in outpatient areas as needed.

Essential Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and physiology, including cross-sectional imaging when necessary.
- Familiarity with medical terminology pertinent to radiology.
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of radiological and diagnostic imaging equipment, including C-arm systems.
- In-depth knowledge of accepted radiological practices and procedures.
- Awareness of radiation safety protocols for patients, operators, and the public, as well as mechanical and electrical safety standards in the examination environment.

This role is primarily hospital-based, providing support for inpatient and emergency services, as well as outpatient facilities.

Core Competencies:
- Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing radiographic equipment and accessories, including CR, DR, and fluoroscopy systems.
- Evaluates image quality for positioning, artifacts, density, and contrast before patient discharge from the department. Collaborates with radiologists or coordinators on complex examinations.
- Capable of diagnosing and rectifying issues related to image quality.
- Executes Meditech functions, including exam completion and appropriate charge submissions.
- Knowledgeable about the safe use and potential risks associated with contrast media.
- Ensures equipment is maintained in optimal condition and initiates service requests as necessary.
- Provides patient-centered care through effective communication and education.
- Performs PACS duties to guarantee accurate documentation and processing of imaging exams.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED:
- Eligibility for California fluoroscopic permit.
- Valid California certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Current ARRT registration.
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

PREFERRED:
- Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting.
