Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in hematology nursing. The successful candidate will provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and adjust nursing care processes as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will also be responsible for performing blood draws, administering medications, and communicating effectively with patients and families.

Responsibilities

  1. Direct Patient Care: Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required, and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  2. Patient Education: Educates patients and families on cancer treatment options, side effects, and self-care techniques.
  3. Medication Administration: Administers medications according to institutional policy and guidelines.
  4. Communication: Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  5. Documentation: Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient information, including medical histories, conditions, treatments, and responses.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience: 6 months of RN experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in the State of Kentucky, BLS-CPR certification within 5 days, and CCHEMOP certification within 3 months.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $31.50 - $45.68 per hour.
