**Job Summary**

The Kennewick School District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our Nutrition Services team. As a Cook, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality food services to our students, ensuring that they receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Prepare and cook large quantities of food items for breakfast, lunch, snack, and supper programs
  • Verify quantities and specifications of orders to ensure compliance with mandated nutritional requirements
  • Maintain facilities in a sanitary condition, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Ensure availability of quantities of items, including food, condiments, and supplies
  • Provide written support to convey information, including menu production, inventory, and quality control records
  • Collect payments for meal transactions and reconcile transactions to balance accounts
  • Perform duties of the Lead Cook in their absence, as needed

**Requirements**

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in food preparation and service preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and management
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
  • Food Handlers permit required; ServSafe certification preferred

**Working Conditions**

  • Work in a wide variety of temperatures, from -10 degrees F to 100 degrees F+
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moderate noise levels
