We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician I to join our team at The New IEM, LLC in Jacksonville, Florida.
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer of custom electrical distribution and power quality equipment in North America. As a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician I, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and complete preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Create and maintain preventive maintenance procedures and logs.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Familiarity with both manual and CNC machine tool installations.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, diagnose equipment problems and recommend repairs.
- Work closely with Materials and Plant Managers.
- Establish relationships with vendors and work with them in repairing equipment.
- Able to read and understand parts and service manuals to recommend repairs of equipment.
- Work independently and within a team environment.
- Complete all related paperwork, including maintaining equipment logs.
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years of equipment repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with metal and copper fabrication equipment is a plus.
Working Conditions:
This role requires working in a shop/warehouse environment with exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust, and fumes.
