Trombone Adjunct Applied Faculty

We are seeking a highly qualified Trombone Professor to join our team at George Mason University.

About the Position:

The Adjunct Applied Trombone Professor will teach individualized lessons, starting August 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Applied Trombone;
  • Provide leadership to Mason's Trombone Studio to include coordination of studio classes as well as on-campus and off-campus performances and events;
  • Coordinate recruitment for the Trombone Studio;
  • Coordinate recitals and juries for the Trombone Studio; and
  • Participate in Brass Area initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Music or equivalent professional experience required;
  • Successful experience teaching at the college level;
  • Desire to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds; and
  • Established reputation as a professional artist with a documented portfolio of live performances and recordings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Music.
