About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team at Omaha Children's Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures, adhering to strict aseptic techniques and guidelines.
  • Assist physicians and other members of the perioperative team in preparing for and executing surgical procedures.
  • Perform preoperative and postoperative tasks, including preparing and cleaning equipment, and assisting with patient transport.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Completion of a formal Surgical Technologist program and certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a pediatric or cardiothoracic setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one complex surgical specialty, such as orthopedic, neurosurgery, or cardiac surgery.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, and participate in on-call rotations.
