Duties

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
  • Perform animal catheterization and administer medications as directed by veterinary staff.
  • Maintain aseptic technique during surgical procedures, adhering to strict clinical standards.
  • Provide pet care, including feeding, bathing, and grooming, to promote overall animal health and happiness.
  • Handle animals safely and effectively, prioritizing their comfort and safety at all times.
  • Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes to the veterinarian, enabling prompt medical intervention.
  • Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, ensuring seamless communication among veterinary staff.
  • Manage kennel duties, including cleaning and sanitizing animal housing areas, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Educate pet owners on proper pet care and health maintenance, empowering them to make informed decisions about their companion's well-being.
  • Support veterinary critical care by assisting with emergency procedures, providing life-saving interventions when needed.

Requirements

  • Proficient in animal catheterization techniques and medication administration.
  • Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology, allowing for effective patient assessment and treatment.
  • Experience in veterinary critical care settings is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent animal handling skills, particularly with dogs and other common pets.
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques in a clinical environment, ensuring a safe working space.
  • Ability to provide compassionate pet care and grooming services, promoting a positive experience for both patients and clients.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and veterinary staff.
