We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC/Mechanical Technician to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all HVAC and Mechanical systems throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily scheduled inspections of all equipment rooms and areas housing HVAC and Mechanical equipment.
  • Regulate control instrumentation associated with HVAC and Mechanical equipment.
  • Complete Code Compliant Inspections, Testing, and Documentation.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot assigned operating equipment, making repairs as needed.
  • Maintain assigned equipment rooms and equipment in a neat, clean, and clutter-free environment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC and Mechanical systems, including air handling units, ice machines, and exhaust fans.
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC and Mechanical problems, ensuring uninterrupted continuation of service.
  • Assist other trades personnel in job tasks associated with plumbing, electrical, and Mechanic I duties.
  • Work various schedules to complete code compliant testing, system repairs, and utility outages.
Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Associate degree in HVAC, Facility Maintenance, Electro-Mechanical, or Electronics is desirable.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Five or more years of related trade experience, preferably in hospital facility maintenance.
  • EPA Universal Certification and High Pressure Boiler license are desirable.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines. The position requires frequent standing, walking, and climbing, as well as occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
