Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at WellSpan Health Services. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, BMI, respirations, and pulse.
  • Collect and process patient specimens, ensuring accurate tracking and handling.
  • Ensure patient care areas are adequately stocked with medical supplies and equipment, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Prepare patients for scheduled procedures, using Standard Precautions and adhering to manufacturer guidelines for instrument and equipment use.
  • Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, tracking and reviewing test results, and relaying information to patients and providers.
  • Administer medications and vaccines, under the supervision of a licensed nurse or provider, and ask prescribed screening questions to identify risks and contraindications.
  • Document and process prescription requests and refills, and perform basic office procedures, examinations, and tests as ordered by providers.
  • Provide patients with standard care instructions and education, and review with patients and family members as directed by providers.
  • Obtain comprehensive health information from patients and family members, and use this information to assist providers in determining the urgency for care or an alternative venue for care.
Requirements:
  • Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program (Diploma) or National Medical Assistant Certification upon hire required.
  • Basic Life Support certification upon hire required.
