Position Summary:
We are seeking a Methods and Allowables Engineer to enhance our stress and analysis team. This pivotal role is essential as we advance towards FAA certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing validated standards and procedures for the substantiation of various aircraft structural components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop validated analysis methodologies aligned with current industry standards.
  • Create comprehensive test plans and methods to validate analysis techniques and generate statistical design values for structural sizing.
  • Draft white papers that detail innovative substantiation methodologies.
  • Design and experimentally validate efficient, semi-automated tools for analyzing composite panels, metallic components, and joints.
  • Generate report templates for consistent documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in producing analysis documentation within an FAA certification framework.
  • In-depth knowledge of composite materials and their failure modes.
  • Familiarity with statistical methodologies (A-Basis or B-Basis).
  • Proficient in engineering calculation tools such as Python, VBA, or FORTRAN.
  • Capability to deliver detailed analysis templates, reports, and certification documentation.
  • Strong foundation in Finite Element Analysis and classical hand calculation techniques.
  • Experience with Composite Damage Tolerance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in small aircraft structural certification.
  • Extensive background in testing, analysis, and correlation of composite or metallic structures.
  • Understanding of analysis, substantiation, and the relationship between process integrity and bonded joint methodologies.
